Kenya borders the Indian ocean on the South-East and enjoys a long, spectacular shore with mainly white sandy beaches. There are numerous places to visit and stay, and activities to suit every holiday-maker. You will be spoilt for choice considering the numerous hotels lining the sandy beaches. Whether you would like to say in a five-star or a budget hotel, there is something for everyone. Activities at the coast include water sports, nature trails, visits to historic and cultural sites and boat trips to various Indian Ocean islands.

Five-day Beach holiday

Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at Nairobi or Mombasa. If arriving in Nairobi, you will get a local connecting flight to Mombasa. Dinner and overnight at Mombasa hotel.

Day 2 to 4: Mombasa and the Coastal areas
Enjoy lazy days sunbathing, relaxing at hotel or for the more active, participate in the various watersports available around the coast. You will also get a chance to visit various cultural and historical sites around the coast, such as Fort Jesus, Shimoni where you can see caves used to keep slaves during the 16th C slave trade, Gedi ruins, and many other sites. Learn about the Swahili culture and buy African handicrafts. You may also visit the several coastal marine parks.

Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, check out from hotel and head for the airport. If departing from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, take connecting flight to Nairobi.

One-week beach holiday

Day 1 : arrival at Nairobi
On arrival you will be picked from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi or the Moi International Airport in Mombasa and dropped at your hotel where you will stay overnight. If in Nairobi, an early morning air transfer to Mombasa will be arranged on the second day.

Day 2-5: Mombasa and the coastal areas
You will be booked into a beachfront hotel where you will spend the next five days soaking in the sun, relaxing by the poolside or taking walks on the beach. For the more active, a wide range of activities will be at your disposal. You may explore the coastal villages and learn more about the Swahili and Miji Kenda cultures, as well as shop for authentic African crafts. Alternatively, visit the wide range of historical features and landmarks, some of which date back to as early as the 15th Century. Water sports include diving, snorkelling, fishing and water skiing.
Opt for a boat ride from the Kenyan south coast into the off-shore Indian Ocean islands, or visit the several marine parks along the coast.

Day 6: Mombasa - Nairobi
After breakfast, check out from your hotel room and be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. A connection flight from Mombasa will have been arranged in advance. Spend the day enjoying the sights around Nairobi.

Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, check out from your hotel room and be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home.

Eight-day ‘Best of Bush and Beach’ safari

Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
Depart from Nairobi hotel after breakfast and drive South to Amboseli. Have lunch at camp/lodge, after which you endulge yourself in an afternoon game drive. Return to lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Amboseli
After breakfast take an early morning game drive. Have lunch at camp/lodge and in the afternoon either opt for an extra game drive or visit a Maasai village (at an extra minimal cost).

Day 3: Amboseli – Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tsavo West National Park and arrive in time for lunch at camp/lodge. Take an afternoon game drive and let our experienced guide show you the various sites of interest around the park. Return to camp/lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Tsavo West
After breakfast take an early morning game drive and return to camp/lodge for lunch. Relax at camp/lodge in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at camp/lodge.

Day 5: Tsavo West - Mombasa
Depart from Tsavo West to Mombasa. After lunch, relax on the beach at your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 6: Mombasa
After breakfast, let our guide show you the various sites around Mombasa, such as Fort Jesus, the Old Town and other historical and cultural sites. After lunch, take a swim in the hotel pool or in the ocean, or take a walk on the beach. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 7: Mombasa
After breakfast, explore more of the sights around this coastal town and its environs. After lunch spend the afternoon on the beach or relaxing at your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel. Optional: Tamarind evening Dhow (at extra cost)
This is a cruise aboard a traditional dhow. Enjoy a sumptuous seafood dinner with music and dancing as the dhow gently sails around the creeks of Mombasa island.

Day 8: Mombasa – Nairobi
Travel back to Nairobi hotel by air (at an extra cost) or road.
